The Datalogic Gryphon™ 4600 series is a series of premium handheld scanners created for retail outlets, light industry, healthcare and public services. The combination of a powerful processor, AI-based (Artificial Intelligence) neural reading and precise optics ensures fast and accurate scanning of 1D and 2D barcodes — including damaged, poorly printed ones or ones displayed on the screen of a mobile device. The series is offered in corded and wireless versions, with care for the environment and a low total cost of ownership.

Ecodesign and reduced carbon footprint of the Gryphon™ 4600 series

The Gryphon 4600 scanners are designed using the Ecodesign LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) approach, with a focus on energy efficiency, the use of recycled materials, reduced packaging volume and greater product durability. The plastic parts of the reader and the base station contain over 70% recycled material and are 100% recyclable.

AI barcode reading

A powerful combination of a high-speed dual-core processor, AI algorithms and neural reading technology ensures significantly better scanning performance. The scanner confidently reads damaged, poorly printed or deformed 1D and 2D codes, and the performance when scanning on glossy, reflective or curved surfaces is also improved.

Easy-to-use, intuitive scanning

The Gryphon 4600 offers an exceptionally good scanning experience thanks to the visible green cross-shaped LED aimer for easier targeting. Datalogic’s “Green Spot” technology, the exclusive 3GL™ (3 Green Lights) and vibration provide reliable feedback for a successful scan. The two-color LED illumination technology, with warm white and red light selectable by the user, adapts to every application on the go.

From near to far — fast reading

The Gryphon 4600 achieves stable performance when reading all common 1D and 2D codes, including GS1 Digital Link and Digital Watermarking, as well as smaller high-density codes when reading barcodes from mobile devices. The dual-sensor optics of the HP (High Performance) models allow reading of codes from close to far range without interruption, and the improved motion tolerance ensures first-attempt reading even with fast-moving codes.

Wireless communication and wireless charging

The wireless solutions of the Gryphon 4600 support both Bluetooth® 5.2 classic and low energy (BLE — Bluetooth Low Energy), as well as the Datalogic STAR Cordless System (radio frequencies 433/915 MHz). The inductive charging system removes the need for contact cleaning and maintenance, ensuring reliable 24/7 operation without interruption for maintenance or repair — with maximum performance.

Battery and SuperCap power packs — long-lasting operation

The wireless scanners of the Gryphon 4600 series can use both a high-capacity lithium-ion battery and a SuperCapacitor pack (without a battery) — for fast charging and long-lasting, stable operation without interruption.
